Waterfowl

2005-2006 Waterfowl season was memorable for The
Hunt Club.
Our average duck harvest this year was 4 ducks/hunter
while averaging only 5 hunters/day for the 60 day
duck season. The huge amount of corn we left, our
2,900 acre rest area and our proximity to Pyramid
State Park's rest area set the stage for great hunting
day in and day out. |
The Hunt Club is in the Mississippi flyway 20 miles
from the Mississippi River and 70 miles southeast of St. Louis.
We have exceptional habitat, food and wintering areas for
ducks and geese and a wide variety of situations in which
to hint. From early season flooded timber hunts for wood ducks
to January hunts in frozen corn fields for geese, The Hunt
Club offers the serious waterfowler an opportunity no matter
what the weather brings.
For 12 years The Hunt Club has set aside an area over 2,900
acres for a waterfowl rest area on the western edge of the
property in Randolph County. In addition, The Hunt Club has
over 800 acres of deep water lakes which rarely freeze and
are also used as refuge areas for our wintering waterfowl.
In recent years, we have benefited from the addition of a
Waterfowl Rest Area to Pyramid State Park which is just across
a county road from our property in Perry County. Increasingly,
Randolph and Perry Counties are holding the majority of geese
and ducks migrating to Southern Illinois. The Hunt Club is
in a prime position of offer quality hunts for the waterfowler
looking for a duck or goose hunt that just might ring nostalgic
of your very early days hunting with your Dad...
